Summer Cooking Camps for Kids and Teens


Fun, hands on real-life culinary experiences for your young chef!

Chefschool's week long half-day camps offer your aspiring young chef the opportunity to have fun, learn real life cooking skills and techniques, and prepare delicious, wholesome food in a safe, entertaining and educational setting.  And all chefschool classes use fresh, local and seasonal ingredients to make "real" food with no packaged or processed ingredients.

Basic Cooking

This is chefschool's classic beginner course, recommended or every beginning youth chef. Learn basic poking techniques, the safe handling of ingredients, delicious recipes, and beginner knife skills.  

 

Recipes include barbecued chicken, Caesar salad, pineapple upside down cake, macaroni and cheese, brownies, turkey meatloaf, mashed potatoes, flank steak and strawberry shortcakes.

International

Each day in this exciting chefschool class, we'll explore classic cooking from a different country, while learning basic cooking skills.  This summer, the focus will be on the foods of Germany, India, Japan, Mediterranean, and Mexico.

Recipes include wiener schnitzel, apple strudel, pea and potato samosas, lemon chicken with coriander, rice pudding, California rolls, chicken teriyaki, roasted red pepper dip, beef kabobs, snake pastry, fish tacos and aqua fresca.

Baking

These chefschool classes provides a basic foundation for classic baking technique and an understanding of the chemistry behind baking.  

 

Session I

Cinnamon rolls, Pumpkin Bread with Penuche Frosting, Lemon Tart wth Fresh Berries and Whipped Cream, Confetti Cake with Vanilla Buttercream, Chocolate Chip Scones

8/14-8/18 9:30-12:30 

Session II  

Apple Streusel Muffins, Challah (French Toast and Bread Pudding made with Challah), Red Velvet Cupcakes, Double Vanilla Poundcake, Banana Pudding with Vanilla Wafers and Whipped Cream

8/14-8/18 2:30-5:30 

All chefschool classes are participatory where children work in small groups, with an adult instructor per every four (4) students, so they can learn skills and technique that they will use for life.

 

Camp is $325/week with a 5% discount ($309) when registering siblings or additional weeks of camp. Space is limited and sells out quickly.
